Differentiation and Specialization of RPA Board

Assessment Measurement & Assessment Policy/Foundations Frameworks   |    Email Article

In April, the division and specialization of the RPA Board occurred in order to more adequately manage the quality and review processes of the publication.  To properly engage and review the type of higher education assessment articles RPA seeks to publish, two classifications were created: assessment measurement and assessment policy/foundations.  Current board members were self-categorized while additional board members were appointed to diversify the scholarly specializations of the collective.  All future manuscript submissions to RPA should be categorized within one of the following frameworks to receive a double-blind review:

Assessment Measurement: a) instrument design, b) validity and reliability, c) advanced quantitative design, d) advanced qualitative design

Assessment Policy/Foundations: a) accreditation, b) best practices, c) social and cultural context, d) historical and philosophical context, e) political and economic context
